In this program, the desired resist training force is set on the resist force scale. Also set are the repetition interval and the number of repetitions. The training distance is 10 meters starting at the 5 meter mark and ending at 15 meters. The swimmer swims out against the resist force, after the 15 meter mark the force is released. When the swimmer feels the force release he stops swimming, flips to the back and the E-Rack retrieves the swimmer to the start position to wait for the start of the next repetition. The current trial repetition number, resist force, average speed, and average power are displayed for each run in the horizontal meter set at the top of the monitor. Instantaneous values for Distance, Speed, and Power are graphed. Average Resisted Speed and Average Resisted Power for up to 30 repetitions are recorded with the last 15 trials displayed on screen so that the consistency among trials can be evaluated. Screen display may be copied and pasted to a word document for a permanent graphical record for the swimmer’s file. Optionally, values may be dumped to an Excel spread sheet for future analysis.
Sample back stroke 10 Meter Sprint training repetition showing first repetition of resist training session. Display zoom function allows viewing of details of each stroke. On-screen measurements are made with pull down scroll bars (not shown) to display details over any interval of data including speed max, min and average, acceleration, etc. Any recorder channel can be turned off by double clicking the channel tab to give greater readability of the remaining channels without affecting other displays. |
