Resist and Assist Program PDF Print E-mail

The Resist and Assist Program provides the option of setting both resist and assist forces and for recording the resisted and assisted speeds.   The display is similar to the Assist Program but with the addition of both resisted and assisted forces and speeds.  The swimmer swims out against the resist force at maximum speed.  He then makes the turn adjusts the towing point and in 3 seconds the assist force is applied and the swimmer swims at maximum speed, returning to the start point.  When the swimmer reaches the start point, the meter values are locked and will be held along with chart record until the start of the next repetition.

Sample Resist plus Speed Assist.

Swimmer swims out at preferred speed and after the turn an assist force is applied and assists the swimmer to swim at a higher speed with no additional effort.  The assist force is set to cause a small increase in speed so the swimmer can become entrained to the higher speed and cadence.   Distance and Timing Mark channels are turned off to give greater readability of the speed for stroke analysis.  Lower left gives free speed and Assist speed.  Assist Force in this trial is 4 lbs.
